چکیده

Escherichia coli is one of the most important bacteria associated with consumption meat products causing human disease, bovines as main reservoir for this organism. Microbiological quality raw sampled at slaughterhouses was evaluated by measuring presence serogroups that produce Shiga toxin (referred to STEC), including both O157:H7 and non-O157 strains can cause Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). The purpose study detect STEC O157 in from Federal Inspection Type (FIT, n=52) non-FIT (n=88) slaughterhouses, well butcheries (n=50), southern Sonora, Mexico. To achieve aim, selective media were employed obtain putative colonies (TS-SMAC agar Rainbow® O157), followed multiplex PCR stx1, stx2, eaeA, rfB genes, using serotype a control. No found beef products, but some isolates containing stx2 pathogenicity gene (1.40%, 3/224) and/or fliCH4 flagellar antigen (1.78%, 4/224). This work also confirmed susceptibility genes several antibiotics multi-resistance all or these trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, tetracycline, clarithromycin, penicillin G, oxacillin, ampicillin cefazolin. comprises first report Sonora will be useful establish their association foodborne outbreaks originating pork future.

Ediacaran biota from Sonora, Mexico.

The Ediacaran biota is the earliest diverse community of macroscopic animals and protoctists. Body and trace fossils in the Clemente Formation of northwestern Sonora extend downward the geologic range of Ediacaran forms. Taxa present in the Clemente Formation include cf. Cyclomedusa plana, Sekwia sp., an erniettid (bearing an air mattress-like "pneu" body construction), and the trace fossils Lo...

Antibiotic resistance and phylogenetic characterization of Acinetobacter baumannii strains isolated from commercial raw meat in Switzerland.

The spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria through food has become a major public health concern because some important human pathogens may be transferred via the food chain. Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the most life-threatening gram-negative pathogens; multidrug-resistant (MDR) clones of A. baumannii are spreading worldwide, causing outbreaks in hospitals. However, the role of raw meat ...

Antibiotic Resistance Patterns and Molecular Typing of Acinetobacter Baumannii Strains Isolated from Burn Patients in Iran

Background and Aims: Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) is an important multidrug-resistant opportunistic pathogen frequently causing various nosocomial infections and is a serious threat to burn patients. These infections are usually caused by the outbreak strains. The aim of this study was to show antibiotic resistance pattern and molecular typing of A. baumannii genes isolates collected ...

Detection of antibiotic resistance genes in some Lactococcus garvieae strains isolated from infected rainbow trout

The present study was done to evaluate the presence of antibiotic resistance genes in Lactococcus garvieae isolated from cultured rainbow trout, West Iran. The isolates were examined for antimicrobial resistance using disc diffusion method. Of the 24 strains tested, 21 were resistant to ampicillin (87.5%), 9 to erythromycin (37.5%) and 19 to tetracycline (79.1%). Fourteen strains were resistant ...
